Guidelines for Blog Pieces
The following below mentioned guidelines need to be followed while submission of blog pieces:-
1) Basic Rules and Guidelines
[A]Content:
Owing to the nature of the journal, we shall only accept entries which are related to Alternative Dispute Resolution (‘ADR’). The entries must showcase a predominant link to ADR. All the authors are requested to send only Original Content. All the submission shall go through a mandatory process of plagiarism check.
[B]Covering Letter:
Submissions must be sent to [email protected]. All submissions must be accompanied with a covering letter, containing the name of the author/s, institutional/organisation affiliation, title and category of the submission and a contact address of the author, including the e-mail address and the phone number. Submissions should be sent as MS word (.doc format) attachments with the title of the article as the file name. The author is also requested to attach an image to accompany the piece. However, this does not form a mandatory requirement. The Image should be representative of the submission’s topic, area or argument. It should be high quality (upwards of 1000p) and aspect ratio of 1:1 (Square).
[C]Identification Details:
The body of the submission must contain no identification of any kind, including the name and institutional affiliation of the author, which must be provided in the covering letter and email body. However, if the author wishes to send an image representative of the submissions’ topic or area, they can send a high quality image with an aspect ratio of 1:1(Square).
[D]Decision on Publication:
The Blog Division of Ex Curia International promptly acknowledges the receipt of submissions and a decision on the publish ability of the blog shall be communicated within due time. All submissions made to Ex Curia International are double-blind refereed. Requests for expedited reviews can be made when the submission is being considered for publication by other blogs. In such cases, please mention a date by which you expect our response. Submissions may be accepted/rejected based solely on the discretion of the Board of Editors. Relaxation of any rules regarding submissions is subject to the discretion of the Board of Editors.
[E]Rolling Submission Policy:
The Ex Curia International Blog follows a rolling submission policy and hence there is no deadline to submit blog pieces.
2) Style Guidelines
[A]Form of Submission: Submissions must be in electronic form. All submissions must be word-processed, single-spaced in Garamond, font size 12 and justified. The sub-headings should be uniformly numbered in roman numerals. The prescribed word limits is not inclusive of footnotes. However, we do not emphasize on strict compliance with the word count.
[B]Word Limit: All blog submissions should not ideally exceed the word limit of 1500 words.
[C]Citations: Only footnotes may be used as the form of citations. End notes shall not be accepted. All footnotes must be in Garamond, size 10, single-spacing and justified. The citations are derived from The Bluebook: A uniform system of citation.

Before submitting any text, concepts, ideas, images, photographs, or other materials (“Submission”) to the ECI Blog, you are required to read and agree to this Submission Disclaimer and guidelines as mentioned below (“Submission Disclaimer”).
You acknowledge, understand, and agree that ECI is under no obligation whatsoever to review, consider, publish, develop, or otherwise use your Submission.

You represent that the Submission made by you is your original work, there are no adverse claims in, or to, the Submission and the Submission does not violate any copyright, patent (including design patent), trademark, trade name, or the rights of any third party, and is not otherwise unlawful. You further acknowledge that due disclosure has been made to ECI if your Submission has been published elsewhere or is submitted for consideration elsewhere. ECI would have no liability in case there is a dispute arising out of such parallel submission of the manuscript.
You acknowledge that other persons may have submitted material to ECI, may have made public, or may originate, submit, or make public, material which is similar or identical to any materials, concepts, and the like, relating to your Submission. You acknowledge that: (i) ECI receives numerous submissions of similar, equivalent or even identical content, information or material from many parties and/or may have already developed and/or considered similar or identical concepts to those contained in your Submission; and (ii) ECI’s review of your Submission is not an admission of its novelty or originality. You understand and agree that you will not be entitled to any compensation because of the use of your Submission, or because of any content, information or material that is similar, equivalent or even identical to the content, information or material relating to your Submission. Even if you subsequently see or learn of a post which appears to incorporate any idea or concept or include anything similar to the content of your Submission, you agree that ECI shall have no obligation to you for the same. You will not assume or infer that your Submission has been accepted, produced, or otherwise used by ECI without intimating such use to you.
You acknowledge, understand and agree that: (a) there does not now exist, nor has there existed in the past, nor will there exist in the future, a fiduciary or confidential relationship between you and ECI; (b) you are making this submission on a voluntary basis; and (c) you have not agreed to this Submission Disclaimer in reliance upon any representation or promise, whether written or oral which goes beyond what has been stated explicitly in this disclaimer.
By making your Submission, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by this Submission Disclaimer and guidelines. In order to make a submission to ECI, you are required to consent to be so bound which will be inferred as soon as ECI receives your Submission.
We reserve the right to make changes to this Submission Disclaimer at any time, with or without providing reasoning for the same. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Submission Disclaimer on the ECI website, and you waive the right to receive specific notice of each such change or modification.
